Ethics and Bioethics in Health

Intended learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences to be developed by the students):

Learning Objetives:

  • Clarify concepts of ethics, bioethics and other correlated concepts;
  • To frame and contextualize health ethics and bioethics from an historical perspective;
  • Analyze fundamental ethics as part of philosophy;
  • Discuss health ethics and bioethics, as applied ethics;
  • To frame and contextualize health ethics and bioethics on its foundations of fundamental ethics;
  • Discuss human action, in its ethical scope, including deliberation and decision;
  • Analyze the specificity of professional action in health;
  • Apply the knowledge of the Ethical decision in the resolution of ethical problems;
  • Discuss ethical principles related to health research.

  • Concepts: Ethics, bioethics, morals, law;
  • Historical framework of health ethics and bioethics;
  • Ethics as part of the philosofy;
  • Health Ethics and bioethics as an Applied Ethics;
  • Fundamentals of Health Ethics and Bioethics;
  • Deliberation, decision and human action;
  • The Ethical decision in health;
  • The ethics of research.
