Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) adapted the international Medicine curriculum of the Maastricht University (MU) to the Portuguese reality, including the teaching, learning and evaluation methods.
MU is a pioneer in the field of medical education, having developed student-centred teaching methods organized around problem-solving, and having demonstrated, through research in education, that these methods produce professionals with equal knowledge, but with more skills and a greater capacity for learning throughout their professional life.
