Last November 12th, the Cinema Club was inaugurated at Multicare Auditorium.
Believing in the capacity of cinema to provide learning on a personal, social and professional level, the Católica Medical School inaugurated the first of many Cinema Club sessions.
Once a month, Católica Medical School invites students to gather in the Multicare Auditorium to watch a film with a special guest, with the aim of guiding them through their knowledge and expertise in several of the concepts portrayed in each film. Admission is free for those who wish to view and discuss topics that encompass cinema and medicine.
The inaugural session was attended by Professor Alexandro Castro Caldas, and the film The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, from 2007, was screened. It is based on the true story of journalist and editor of Elle magazine, Jean-Dominique Bauby, who had the challenge of dealing with the after-effects of a stroke.
