In mid-February Católica Medical School (CMS) participated in a community event at Agrupamento de Escolas D. João II, held at Escola Básica e Secundária Rainha D. Leonor de Lencastre, reinforcing its commitment to education and community engagement. Professor Bruno Cardoso and the President of the Students’ Union, Ana Raimundo, represented CMS.

As a dedicated community partner, CMS highlighted several collaborative initiatives designed to engage high school students in health promotion and medical education. Ana Raimundo presented key activities developed in partnership with the school, including guided visits to the Anatomy Theater, hands-on molecular biology sessions featuring Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) techniques, and basic life support training. Additionally, the cardiometabolic screening conducted in 2023 involving teachers and support staff was recognized as a particularly valuable contribution to the school community.
This initiative underscores CMS’s ongoing mission to expand medical education outreach, engage the local community by fostering meaningful partnerships, and inspire future generations to explore careers in science and healthcare.
