Clinical markers and semiological and functional characterization

Neurologist, with academic training at Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon (degree in medicine, master's degree in neuro-ophthalmology and PhD in neurology), with a special interest in the area of headache research.

I am a clinical researcher having participated in multiple clinical trials and investigator-initiated, collaborative and isolated studies. Since 2013 I'm part of the Luz-Saúde research committee.

Since 2020 I have been a principal investigator at LIoN - Luz Innovation on Neurosciences, a clinical research group in Neurosciences. LIoN's main activity is multimodal clinical research (with a strong advanced neuroimaging component), applied to brain physiology, ageing and to the most impactful neurological disorders, such as headaches, cognition, neuroinflammation and cerebrovascular disease.

My main focus of research is on clinical markers and semiological and functional characterization, with the aim of contributing to personalized medicine strategies.
