Neurosciences Rotation

Intended learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences to be developed by the students): 

  • Understanding the consequences of psychiatric illnesses at the personal, interpersonal and society level 
  • Initiating psychopharmacological and behavioural based treatment plans 
  • Clinical assessment of the ear, nose and throat 
  • Clinical assessment of the eye 
  • To evaluate visual acuity and diagnostic refraction 
  • To recognize and detect eye abnormalities 
  • To examine the fundus of the eye by means of ophthalmoscopy 
  • Neurological assessment 
  • Assessing signs and symptoms of psychiatric problems, especially training in the Mental State Examination and History taking 
  • Communication skills with disabled and complex or mentally ill patient.
