Summary of professional career

Luís Miguel Lacerda is currently a Research Associate in Pediatric Clinical Neuroimaging at University College London and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Portuguese Catholic University. He works on the use of advanced medical imaging techniques for clinical applications, particularly in the area of epilepsy and neurosurgery, in collaboration with doctors at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He came to UCL from King's College London where he took his PhD in Neuroimaging on the development of new methods to study brain connectivity. As a complement to his academic activity, he led the Portuguese Association of Researchers and Students in the UK (PARSUK) to create the first Scientific Advisory Board in a Portuguese Embassy. Finally, he shares an interest and experience in public engagement and new educational methodologies in science and medicine, as well as translating scientific evidence to inform policy decisions.
