The first day of interviews for applicants to the first academic year of the medical course at Universidade Católica Portuguesa took place last Saturday, June 12, in Lisbon.
On this day, about 30 applicants were interviewed by teachers of the Católica Medical School. The interviews will be repeated on Saturdays throughout the month of June, to select the students who will start the academic year that begins on September 13, at the renovated campus of Sintra.
The selection process is innovative in Portugal, as it is not based solely on classifications obtained in high school and national entrance examinations. The evaluation of the applicants will also consider, with a weighting of 15%, a portfolio and a set of mini-interviews, now underway, conducted by several faculty members. This is an innovative interview process, the multiple mini-interviews, which aligns the Católica Medical School of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa with the best practices of the world's great medical schools.
