Católica Medical School announces the launch of its new Master’s in Medical Education, an innovative program designed to empower healthcare professionals in the areas of teaching, research, and educational leadership.
Starting on October 13, 2025, and lasting 2 years, the program stands out for its modern pedagogical approach, addressing the growing need for pedagogical training for those teaching in healthcare. The flexible structure of the program and the emphasis on autonomous learning make it an ideal choice for professionals who wish to balance work with study.
Professor and Program Coordinator, Pedro Mateus, states, "In the Master’s in Medical Education, we will apply the science of teaching and learning that we promote in the training of our students. It will be the application of ‘learning by doing,’ which results from scientifically proven experiential learning."
Based on evidence-based, person-centered healthcare, the program prioritizes the creation of meaningful learning experiences that shape healthcare professionals who are empathetic, technically competent, and have a strong ethical foundation.
“The teaching of simulation in medical education will allow our students to create realistic learning experiences that prepare future healthcare professionals for the challenges of clinical practice with empathy and safety,” says Professor Paulo Oom.
Applications are open until February 28, 2025
