The Dean’s Office of the Católica Medical School and its entire academic community express their deepest sorrow at the passing of Dr. Carla Noronha.
A specialist in Internal Medicine, Dr. Carla Noronha was a dedicated lecturer, an exemplary tutor, an exceptional colleague, and a generous friend. Throughout her career, she distinguished herself through her constant pursuit of clinical excellence, her academic rigor, and the generosity with which she shared her knowledge. Her authenticity, courage, and sense of mission were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her professional and personal ethics, marked by integrity, responsibility, and respect for others, were a constant example for her peers and students. Dr. Carla Noronha deeply believed in medicine as a vocation and in education as a transformative instrument, and she lived these principles with coherence and passion.
Her professional path was marked by positions of great responsibility and impact, namely as coordinator of the Autoimmune Diseases Clinic at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo and as a consultant in Internal Medicine. Since 2016, she had been part of the team at Hospital CUF Descobertas, where she left an indelible mark through her competence and humanity.
At our faculty, the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of Portugal, Dr. Carla Noronha was a luminous and transformative presence. Her deep commitment to medical education and to the future of medicine inspired generations of students, who found in her not only a teacher, but also a true mentor.
Her passing leaves an irreparable void in our academic and medical community. To her family, friends, colleagues, and students, we extend our most sincere condolences, with gratitude for her life and for the legacy she leaves among us.
