Joana Nunes, a professor at Católica Medical School and a gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Hospital da Luz, wrote this article on viral hepatitis. She explains how to combat this "enemy" and discusses the importance of screening.

"The Viral hepatitis is a liver infection caused by viruses A, B, C, D, and E. Hepatitis B, C, and D can become chronic and pose a global threat due to their prevalence and complications such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. Therefore, the World Health Organization (WHO) has set a goal of eliminating viral hepatitis as a public health problem by 2030.
