The CatólicaMed Cardiometabolic Screening will take place this Thursday, June 1st, at the Rainha Dona Leonor de Lencastre Basic and Secondary School in S. Marcos. This event aims to promote the health and well-being of the population by offering a free screening for the professional community of the D. João II School Group, identifying cardiometabolic risk factors and providing personalized guidance for a healthy lifestyle.

During the screening, comprehensive assessments will be conducted, including measurements of height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, and laboratory tests for HbA1c and lipid profile. Participants will have the opportunity to receive an individualized analysis of their results, as well as recommendations and guidance for follow-up care if necessary.

This event, organized through a partnership between the Medical School, the Students' Union, and the D. João II School Group, will involve medical and nursing students as volunteers. This will contribute to their personal and professional development by providing them with practical experience in a supervised clinical environment. Students will have the chance to interact with participants, perform screening procedures, and promote the importance of prevention and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The Cardiometabolic Screening is open to all professionals in the community, regardless of age or health condition, and will also involve students from the basic and secondary education levels of the school group, who can participate in a shadowing program.
