Paulo Bettencourt, researcher at Católica Medical School is guest editor of Vaccine journal on BCG

Professor Paulo Bettencourt, Auxiliary Professor, Principal Investigator, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, was the Guest Editor at the journal Vaccine, to coordinate a Special Issue on the centenary of BCG.

BCG, the only approved vaccine against tuberculosis (TB), is the oldest vaccine in the World still in use. On 18th June of 1921, the first BCG vaccination was administered, and this Special Issue celebrates that historical moment. The issue, which was co-edited by 6 Guest Editors, and contains 15 articles from some of the most renowned laboratories in the world working on TB and BCG.
