As part of the broadening of institutional relations between UCP's Faculty of Medicine and other medical schools, Pedro Mateus, Head of the Department of Medical Education, visited, this summer, the oldest Department of Medical Education in the world, founded by the pioneering physician in this field and considered the father of the discipline, George Miller. This department, part of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Illinois - Chicago, is currently one of the most advanced in both research and postgraduate training in Medical Education, with an emphasis on the Masters of Health Professions Education programme.

The visit provided an opportunity to see how the postgraduate programme, including the Master's, is implemented and to meet with various representatives of the department (training, research, international relations and management), laying the foundations for possible future collaboration in both training and research in this area. Professor Ara Tekian (on the right side of the picture), who is responsible for the department's international relations, hopes to be able to start this collaboration as soon as possible.
