Dr David Berhanu has recently completed his PhD at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, with a dissertation focused on non-invasive neuroimaging biomarkers for the assessment of intracranial pressure, entitled “Optic nerve anatomy and imaging – a surrogate for intracranial pressure”.
His research combined high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging and optic nerve sheath ultrasound, leading to the development of tools with direct application in clinical practice. During his doctoral studies, Dr Berhanu published in high-impact international scientific journals and collaborated with leading international institutions, adopting a translational approach that bridges methodological rigor and clinical relevance.
At Católica Medical School, Dr Berhanu has been involved in teaching activities as a tutor in neuroscience-related courses, particularly in anatomy and neuroradiology, and in student mentoring. Católica Medical School congratulates Dr Berhanu and wishes him continued success in his scientific and clinical career.
