This Advanced Course in Sleep Pediatric Medicine will be with an English b-learning format, including a transdisciplinary education evolving the Sleep Medicine and Sleep Sciences, and intends to fill the sleep education gap and form skilled healthcare professionals with the expertise to work in different areas and countries.

International Collaboration

The international program of this Advance Course will run in collaboration with the Professors from other Universities. This collaboration will allow trainees greater interdisciplinarity and experience with international reality, in the sense that they will have a deeper understanding of theoretical and practical subjects. Classes will be taught by the most up-to-date references in Sleep Medicine, in a b-learning context and with the possibility of a practical internship in Portugal. This reflects the breadth of knowledge in this area of knowledge, which is not a specialty but a clinical differentiation that requires a common vocabulary and multidisciplinary medical-scientific interconnection. This advance training in pediatric sleep medicine meets the need to standardize teaching in this area of knowledge, providing trainees with the tools to achieve excellence in clinical practice in a multidisciplinary context. The Católica Medical School will be a pioneer in this field in Portugal, leading the way in this extremely important area that has a major impact on the quality of children health, contributing to differentiated medical training.

Assessment

The assessment will be based on participation in classes and in the final exam that will be taken at the end of the Advanced Course in Sleep Pediatric Medicine. Additionally, the students will present a review of a scientific topic or an original work at the Seminar.

The students should be present in 80% of all classes that are enrolled, to access the final exam.
