Research from Nelson Frazão’s laboratory at the Católica Medical School on bacterial lysogeny during pregnancy received the Best Poster Award at the 1st International Symposium on Advances in Phage Therapeutics. The presented work, titled "Pregnancy Promotes Lysogeny in Gut Bacteria, Potentially Impacting Phage Therapy," explores how pregnancy-associated changes in gut bacterial lysogens may affect the effectiveness of phage therapy. The symposium was held at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, on June 16–17, 2025.
