Yesterday, September 9th, the Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Isabel Capeloa Gil, met with the Mayor of Sintra, Basílio Horta, to plan the rehabilitation works of the facilities of the Sintra campus, where the Faculty of Medicine will be established.
At the end of the meeting, the Rector of UCP reaffirmed that "this is an important project for Portugal, important for the development of higher education in Sintra...", adding that, and because the course is grounded on the teaching of medicine based on technology, it is necessary to "adapt the building to the discipline of anatomy and build an anatomical theater".
The Integrated Master in Medicine of the Universidade Católica was accredited by A3ES this September. The course involves a partnership with the prestigious University of Maastricht and the Luz Saúde Group and is distinguished from traditional curriculum by having a more practical and integrated approach since the early years.
Counting on a renowned national and international teaching staff, it will be the first medical course in Portugal taught in English and open to students from all over the world, with a student centred methodology.
