Rome, November 13, 2025 (Ecclesia) – Portuguese physician José Martins highlighted the “great interest and global participation” in the international congress “AI and Medicine: The Challenge of Human Dignity,” organized by the Pontifical Academy for Life (APV), which concluded this Wednesday in Rome, Italy.

The associate and former president of the Portuguese Catholic Doctors Association (AMCP) described the initiative as a "magnificent meeting," according to a statement sent today to the ECCLESIA Agency.

José Diogo Ferreira Martins was a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Congress in his capacity as Secretary-General of the International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations (FIAMC).

"With participants from all over the world, the congress was fully booked days before the start of the proceedings, with hundreds of people waiting for a place, which led to the opening of the possibility of registration in a hybrid format, both in person and  online , to allow for broader participation," he indicated.
