The Portuguese start-up Dermamatica — founded by Sam Izadloo, a student at Católica Medical School — has been awarded the prize for “Most Promising Start-up” at the fifth edition of the sino-lusophone competition 929 Challenge, held in Macau.
Dermamatica has developed an artificial intelligence solution for 3D skin cancer screening, with the potential to improve the early detection of the disease — a breakthrough that earned the project recognition in this prestigious international competition.
According to the competition’s organizers, this distinction highlights a strong commitment to health innovation within the framework of cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
