Learning objectives
1 – a) Learn literacy skills that improve the ability to critically read course documents, published research and other information sources that support learning. b) Learn literacy skills that allow the improvement of reports and assignments writing. c) Learn the basics about scientific writing, including the do’s and don’ts.
2 – a) Learn how to use all library resources and how to plan and manage searching, including how to find and evaluate information. b) Learn how to write and cite using reference management software and main citation models in medical and health sciences.
3 – a) Develop communication skills that allow improving the participation in tutorial groups, project presentations and feedback sessions (e.g. communication with slideshows and in small groups, topics and time management). b) Learn out to give and receive feedback efficiently using structured models.
4 – a) Improve personal effectiveness in learning, including how to plan time-effective study, improve critical thinking and reflection about the learning processes. b) Learn main learning models in medicine, including life-long learning tools. Learn how to deal with procrastination and heavy-load weeks during the academic year.
