Intended learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences to be developed by the students):
The aim of this course is for students to acquire and develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the successful development of their dissertation project/project work/internship report.
At the end of this course, students should:
- have the skills to draw up a properly structured, reasoned and timetabled dissertation/project work/internship report;
- know how to draw up a research plan, identifying the scientific questions and their objectives, which methodology or methodologies are most appropriate for collecting information, how to interpret the results and present the conclusions reached in accordance with the theoretical framework studied;
- prepare a final written document containing their dissertation project/project work/internship report and present it publicly to a jury appointed by the teachers in charge;
- learn about the process of scientific communication and publication and peer review.
Syllabus:
The following topics will be covered by all students:
- The nature of a research project.
- The structure of a research project.
- Drawing up the project's theoretical framework: literature review, bibliographical research.
- Identification of themes, problems and scientific questions.
- Criteria for choosing the project guidance team
- Timetable.
- Academic and scientific research regulations, and funding.
- Research methodologies.
- Scientific communication
The syllabus for each topic should be appropriate for each student and their individual thesis project.
