Católica Medical School invites you to participate in the seminar on “Hereditary cerebellar ataxias, from benchside to clinical research", which will take place on April 11th 2024 a 12:30 pm at Católica Medical School Multicare auditorium.

Joana Damásio did her medical degree at the Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Coimbra, and a neurology residency in Hospital de Santo António, Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto. She currently works as a consultant neurologist, specialised in movement disorders, at Hospital Santo António and at the Centro de Genética Preditiva, Instituto de Biologia Molecular e Celular, I3S. She is leading a national-level research study on “Hereditary ataxias: cerebellar, non-cerebellar symptoms and disability”, through a clinical fellowship at the  Genetic Epidemiology and Epigenetics Group, UMIB, ICBAS School of Medicine and the Biomedical Sciences and CGPP, Instituto de Biologia Molecular e Celular, i3S, Universidade do Porto.  She is the president-elect of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Doenças do Movimento, and a member of the MDS Ataxia Study Group and European Academy of Neurology scientific panel on Neurogenetics.
