The first edition of Coordinator Day brought together 17 course coordinators from the pre-clinical years (1st, 2nd and 3rd years) of the Integrated Master in Medicine at Católica Medical School for a morning of sharing, reflection and discussion on some of the key challenges facing our educational project.

Under the theme “Coordinate, Evaluate and Improve”, the event focused on two key areas: the challenges of course coordination and management, and assessment within the Integrated Master in Medicine.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation, for the first time, of a comprehensive overview of the assessment schedule across the pre-clinical years, bringing together Blocks, Clusters and all other Curricular Units. This broader perspective enabled an in-depth analysis of how assessments are distributed throughout the semester and laid the groundwork for future discussions on challenges and opportunities for improvement in this area.

Throughout the session, participants shared experiences, identified common challenges and discussed strategies to strengthen curriculum coordination and promote an increasingly integrated learning experience for students.

Feedback from participants was extremely positive, highlighting the value of this opportunity for collective reflection and expressing a strong interest in organising similar meetings in the future, focusing on specific priority topics for curriculum development.

Building on the success of Tutor Day, Coordinator Day @ CMS establishes itself as another initiative aimed at fostering academic collaboration and continuously improving the quality of education at Católica Medical School.
