Dr. Pedro Marques, MD, PhD, has been named one of the recipients of the prestigious 2025 Early Investigator Award by the Endocrine Society. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to the field of pituitary and neuroendocrinology research.

Dr. Marques, our invited Professor at Católica Medical School, an endocrinologist at CUF and the current Scientific Programmes Project Manager at the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE), also serves as Vice President of the Portuguese Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (SPEDM).

Professor Pedro Marques is “incredibly honored to be a winner of the Endocrine Society Early Investigator Award 2025," Marques shared. "This recognition means a great deal to me, and motivates me to keep learning, growing and contributing to the field of pituitary and neuroendocrinology. Importantly, this is not only a personal achievement, but a reflection of the amazing people I have (and had) the privilege to work with.”

His award-winning research focuses on the tumor microenvironment of the pituitary gland, offering new insights that could pave the way for more targeted and effective treatments.

Dr. Marques is set to attend the Endocrine Society’s annual meeting, ENDO 2025, in San Francisco, where he will formally receive the award and deliver a talk on his work.

The Endocrine Society’s Early Investigator Awards aim to support and recognize emerging leaders in endocrine-related research. As the organization announced, “The Early Investigators Awards were established to assist in the development of early career investigators and to recognize their accomplishments in endocrine-related research.”

Dr. Marques' recognition not only highlights his personal achievements but also underscores the growing impact of Portuguese researchers on the international stage of medical science.
