Professional Career

Career as a psychiatrist closely linked to the area of Human Rights and Public Health Policies, with the creation of a protocol to accompany victims of domestic violence in 2015, actions to promote a reduction in the deprivation of liberty to which psychiatric patients are subjected and access to the latest medication for those suffering from schizophrenia between 2019 and 2023 - with funding for medication arriving in 2021 and amendments to the Mental Health Law in 2023. Author of articles in national and international journals, notably the first study to assess the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of the Portuguese population, and three books in the field of psychiatry: Urgências Psiquiátricas (Psychiatric Emergencies) (2018), Step-by-step Psiquiatria (Step-by-step Psychiatry) (2023), and Dormir é Fácil (Sleeping is Easy) (2024).

Other Interests

I like playing rugby (and played competitively until 2022) and spending time with friends. I like classical music, jazz, and electronic music, architecture, and spending time with friends, having good lunches and dinners.
