Teaching Methods
The PhD in Bioethics adopts a diverse pedagogical approach, combining theoretical and practical teaching methods with active learning strategies tailored to the objectives and content of each curricular unit.
During the first year, teaching is based on lectures, theoretical and practical classes, seminars, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning, and case study analysis.
These methodologies enable students to consolidate fundamental knowledge in Ethics and Bioethics, develop skills in ethical argumentation and deliberation, and acquire the tools needed to design and develop scientific research projects.
Throughout the years dedicated to research and thesis preparation, doctoral students benefit from specialised supervision provided by faculty members with expertise in their respective scientific fields and in Bioethics.
The programme also includes research seminars, progress meetings, Journal Clubs, and scientific discussions, fostering the exchange of experiences, critical reflection, and continuous assessment of research progress.
An annual doctoral students' meeting is also planned, organised by the students themselves, to present and discuss their research projects, with the participation of invited experts.
