It is with great honor and enthusiasm that the Católica Medical School celebrates the awarding of the 1st Prize (ex aequo) in the inaugural edition of the UCP Pedagogical Innovation Award. The winning pedagogical practice — “Implementation of Mini-Tests in Tutorial Sessions: A Strategy for Consolidating Concepts in Problem Based Learning” — was introduced this academic year in the “Growth and Development I” curricular unit of the Integrated Master’s in Medicine.

According to Bruno Cardoso, curricular unit coordinator and lead applicant, “This award truly reflects the commitment of our young faculty — now in its fourth year — to educational excellence and pedagogical innovation. The recognition holds particular significance as it has been built upon a culture of collaboration, trust, and dedication that has been fostered from day one, with the goal of offering our students a medical education of exceptional quality, grounded in best teaching practices in Problem Based Learning methodology. This prize is the result of true teamwork — from the coordination team to the tutors and, of course, our students — who have embraced this approach with enthusiasm and rigor, making it an integral part of their learning experience in the curricular unit’s tutorial sessions.”
