The Oeiras Valley Science Festival (OVSF), organized by the Municipality of Oeiras, featured scientific direction by Alexandre Quintanilha – a researcher in the field of physics, retired full professor, and former Member of Parliament – with curation by Vítor Cardoso – theoretical physicist and leader of GWverse. The event hosted more than 80 national and international speakers and around 50 partners, for five days dedicated to promoting scientific literacy, highlighting the Municipality as a center of excellence in the STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

This is a major science communication event, unique in the country, aiming to bring science and technology closer to all audiences – from the youngest to the oldest – with Artificial Intelligence as its main theme. CBR’s participation represented a unique opportunity to bring science closer to society and to showcase what fundamental biomedical research is, its importance for human health, and the work carried out by our researchers.

The first days of the OVSF, from Wednesday to Friday, May 21–23, were reserved for school audiences, with hands-on activities. The final two days of the festival, Saturday and Sunday, May 24–25, also featured numerous plenary sessions, roundtables, and activities aimed at the general public – youth, adults, and families.

CBR was present during the week with the schools of Oeiras and also over the weekend, notably with a roundtable entitled "Algorithms and Decisions in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI)," in which CBR researcher Luís Rocha participated.
