Intended learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences to be developed by the students):

Endow students with fundamental knowledge and skills to enable them to develop research in the fields of psychology and psychiatry.

Aims to promote the acquisition and development of:

  1. knowledge about the principles and domains of study of psychiatry and psychology.
  2. skills to enable the formulation of questions in these fields, within scientific research projects.
  3. skills enabling students to select and apply instruments for the objective assessment of the fields of psychology and psychiatry and to analyze their results.
  4. a rigorous scientific attitude which enables students to analyze and understand in a critical and scientifically grounded manner the issues involved in the scientific study of phenomena in the fields of psychology and psychiatry. 2.4 Neurobiology of human behavior Psychopathology and main mental disorders Objective assessment in psychology and psychiatry (intelligence, cognitive functions, quality of life, assessment of symptoms and mental disorders, biological measures) Interventions and articulation in psychology and psychiatry: psychological intervention models and psychotherapies, psychopharmacology and biological therapies (ECT, TMS and DBS) Fundamental issues for formulating research projects (research questions, literature review, methodology, predicting results, limitations),
