Teaching Method

The PhD in Bioethics adopts a diverse pedagogical approach, combining theoretical and practical teaching methods with active learning strategies tailored to the objectives and content of each curricular unit.

During the first year, teaching is based on theoretical and practical classes, seminars, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning, and case study analysis.

These methodologies enable students to consolidate fundamental knowledge in Ethics and Bioethics, develop ethical reasoning and deliberation skills, and acquire the tools needed to design and conduct scientific research projects.

Throughout the years dedicated to research and thesis development, PhD students benefit from specialised supervision by faculty members with expertise in their respective scientific fields and Bioethics.

The programme also includes research seminars, progress meetings, Journal Clubs, and scientific discussion sessions, fostering the exchange of experiences, critical reflection, and continuous assessment of research progress.

An annual PhD student meeting is also planned, organised by the students themselves, providing an opportunity to present and discuss their research projects with the participation of invited experts.
