The Training Course in Entrepreneurship in Health has been developed to support students, researchers and faculty at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in acquiring the essential skills needed to understand and operate within the health innovation ecosystem. Through a practical approach focused on value creation, the course provides the necessary foundations to transform ideas into structured, sustainable projects with a real impact on the sector. It is within this context that the main objectives of the training are presented, guiding the entire learning journey:
 
  • To understand the fundamental concepts of innovation, entrepreneurship and value creation in the health sector.
  • Identify emerging trends and business opportunities relevant to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Develop skills in analysing and validating entrepreneurial ideas through market research and customer segmentation.
  • Create and structure business models using the Business Model Canvas as a tool to support the design of value propositions.
  • Draw up a business plan.
  • Understand the principles of intellectual property protection, including patenting and licensing.
  • Apply principles of leadership and teamwork in the context of entrepreneurial projects.
  • Prepare and deliver effective pitches, supported by a pitch deck.
