Carlota Cunha Matos is a Biomedical Engineer with 17 years of experience in diagnostic device development, from concept to manufacturing. Carlota holds an an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (FCT-UNL) and an Engineering Doctorate in Medical Devices from the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow, where she developed novel devices for real-time single-cell imaging during nanoparticle vaccine delivery.  Throughout her path in the development of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices, Carlota has led interdisciplinary projects across the full product lifecycle both at biosurfit, SA and, more recently, at Inflammatix, Inc., where she is currently Director of Design Transfer and Lisbon Lab at Inflammatix. Her work spans a variety of areas from device and reagent development, production process development, product optimization and transfer to manufacturing to IP management. She is particularly driven by connecting teams and ideas, solving complex development challenges, and streamlining processes to bring impactful diagnostic technologies to clinical use. At Católica Medical School, she coordinates the 1st Year of the Integrated Master in Medicine, the curricular unit Community, Medicine and Science – Project, and co-coordinates Growth and Development I.
